HETTINGER ROD & GUN CLUB

Each summer, the Rod & Gun Club hosts a trap shooting league. "The league is a handicap league so every level of skill trap shooter is welcome. There are no age limits but youth must have taken a hunter safety course or accompanied by a parent. Hearing and eye protection is required. Team size is a minimum 4 and maximum of 6 members. League scoring is every other week. For each team the score will be the best 4 scores of the team for the competition week. Team members can shoot ahead (unlimited) but “make ups” are not allowed except for extreme situations.

Open and league shooting is available every Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Trap Club 4 miles south of Hettinger (green building on the east side of the highway shortly after crossing the ND/SD state line). Membership in the club is required ($15/year) and there is a charge for clay pigeons of $4.00 per 25 shot round and participants can either bring their own shotgun shells or purchase them on site."
